Top 15 Travel Photos
I decided to sift through my Camera Roll this past week and compiled my top 15 travel photos. These photos are from as recently as last month and far back as five years ago and range across six continents. Enjoy!
1. Angkor Wat Sunrise, Cambodia
I remember waking up incredibly early to catch this sunrise. We needed to get to Angkor Wat early not just to catch first light, but to ensure we got a good spot, right along the water.
2. Gardens by the Bay, Singapore
Singapore is the city of the future. It has unbelievable architecture and style and these amazing “super trees” that light up at night. If you’ve ever seen Crazy Rich Asians, you’ll know what I’m talking about.
3. The 12 Apostles, Great Ocean Road, Australia
Just outside of Melbourne is a legendary road trip along the Southern Ocean called the Great Ocean Road. It has some amazing sea stacks (like these) that, when the sunset hit it just right, feel quite Godly.
4. African Savannah, Okavango Delta, Botswana
The Okavango Delta is home to an epic migration every year, aptly called, “The Great Migration.” During this time, all sorts of wild animals come to the delta to rest and mate, and are regularly treated to sunsets like these.
5. Valley of the Moon, San Pedro de Atacama, Chile
The Valley of the Moon feels otherworldly. From the barren landscape to sandy cliffs, you’re instantly transported to Earth’s natural satellite. Oh, and the sunset there is absolutely phenomenal too.
6. Stari Most Old Bridge, Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
During the Yugoslav Civil War in the 1990’s, this bridge collapsed due to heavy bombardment. Luckily, the Bosnians reconstructed an identical replica, including the iconic point in the center.
7. Peak2Peak Gondola, Whistler, British Columbia, Canada
Whistler-Blackcomb are two completely independent mountains from each other, that is until the Peak2Peak Gondola was constructed. The massive tramway will take you from one peak to the other in 11 minutes flat.
8. Table Mountain, Cape Town, South Africa
Table Mountain is always on your mind in Cape Town. It’s frankly unavoidable. The plateau shapes the geography, weather, and pollution of the entire city, plus provides some amazing views of clouds rolling over it.
9. Lion Cub on bridge, Okavango Delta, Botswana
This cute guy was smiling for the camera! (Note: we did not tempt him in any way or interfere with his daily activity. We simply were there to observe and were in the right place at the right time.)
10. Castle Ewen, The Fairy Glen, Isle of Skye, Scotland
This is no normal castle. This is where fairies live. The walk through the forest is dark and treacherous, but once you reach the summit of Castle Ewen, you’re rewarded with a view of the whole fairy dominion.
11. Golden Gate Bridge, Baker Beach, San Francisco, California, USA
Ah yes, my hometown… It has its problems, yes, but it has one of the most recognizable landmarks in the world and on a day like that, there’s nothing like sitting on the beach and watching the waves roll in.
12. Machu Picchu, Peru
One of the seven wonders of the world is truly a sight to be seen. Everyone says Machu Picchu is wonderful and otherworldly, but you really need to see it for yourself to experience it in all its glory.
13. A Lonely Road in Iceland
Iceland is one of my favorite places in the world and this picture encapsulates why. It feels so remote and out there, that you’re really at the edge of the map. Iceland answers that call of the wild.
14. Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown, New Zealand
Queenstown is the adventure capital of New Zealand, with a rich sheep sheering and bungee jumping history. Situated on picturesque Lake Wakatipu, this town is all you could ever ask for.
15. Siberia Bowl, Squaw Valley, California
You can feel the history here. One good run, from the top of Siberia to Squaw Valley town can be the memory of a lifetime. Back in 1964, they used this very same run for the slalom at the Olympic Games.
