United States – East
I’ve lived on the East Coast of the US since August 2018 and, let me tell you, there is so much to see on that side of the country. From the skyscrapers in New York to the monuments of Washington DC, you definitely won’t be bored exploring this half of my home country.
Washington DC
My adopted home, Washington DC is one of the great cities of the world. Yes, it might get a bad rap because of the politics surrounding it, but one cannot deny the majesty of the monuments on the National Mall, or the immense history contained in the 17 Smithsonian Museums throughout the city. My personal favorite is the National Portrait Gallery, near Chinatown. To get around, use the slightly overpriced, but very clean Metrorail system.
New York City
The Big Apple. The City that Never Sleeps. New York City is a whirlwind of action and excitement which can be overwhelming at times, but is one heck of a place to visit. Manhattan Island has so much to do, from Central Park to Times Square to the World Trade Center to the Natural History Museum. This city always has something going on 24/7 and I guarantee you’ll never be bored. Take the infamous Subway (or just walk) to get around, as you’ll save the hassle of navigating city traffic.
